Here at AJ Charlton’s and Sons we have a Sawmill, Joinery and a retail Timberstore that sells a wide range of fencing, landscaping materials, gates and sheds. Our rapidly expanding team have an excellent opportunity for a Warehouse Operative to join our long-established family run business near Frome in Somerset on a full time contract.
As part of this team you will be responsible for a range of manual, hands-on tasks, within a fast-paced timber warehouse/yard, that include:
- Greeting and serving customers
- Loading customer vehicles
- Picking orders in a timely manner
- Handballing timber materials
- Working efficiently within a small team

The position is offered on a full-time basis and the working hours are Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 5pm.
You will also be required to work every-other Saturday per month & 3 out of 5 Bank Holidays (excluding Christmas as we close for the holiday period) with overtime available.
The ideal candidate will have;
- Great customer service skills
- A positive and proactive attitude
- The ability to communicate and work well under pressure
- The ability to prioritise a demanding workload and use their initiative
- A forklift licence would be beneficial, but not essential as full training can be given to the right candidate.
